Where Is My Time?

I have been wondering where my creative time gets sucked away to, and a not insignificant portion is tinkering with open-source software. I think this is valuable, but I would like to be more discerning about when this tinkering is useful. For example, last night, instead of churning through any of my actual goals, I spent maybe around thirty minutes to an hour getting the latest version of Dillo installed.

Dillo is neat. I love that there’s an alternative browser engine being actively developed. It’s also something I don’t explicitly have a use for, and I didn’t need to read up on FLTK. This is a better use of my time than social media glass rubbing, but this particular activity feels like it consumes too much of my time.
